Career Cafe: New Media

TOKYO & ARTS Career services presents: Career Cafe is here again! The event will be held at 28th March in Otaniemi at Miestentie 3 campus cafeteria at 3-5pm. In this event a student will interview two alumnies and this time we are focusing on the New Media department’s alumnies. The alumnies are media artist Paula Lehtonen and sound artist Tommi Toivonen (formerly Koskinen). Here’s the Facebook-event

Tommi Toivonen is currently working as an artist / hacker at Mehackit, doing creative technology projects for Mehackit’s courses, workshops and events. In addition to his work at Mehackit, he’s also performing music with his bands, doing music and sound design work for all kinds of projects and building his own instruments. He is Bachelor of Science (Computer science) and Master of Arts (Sound in New Media) from Aalto University.

Paula Lehtonen is a media artist working in the fields of theatre, music and contemporary art. Her main tool is video projection and in the year 2017 her works can be seen at the national theatre, on the facade of the Raasepori castle, at a gallery exhibition and in several music venues where she performs as a VJ. Before studying at the Aalto Media Lab, Lehtonen graduated from the Polytechnic of Tampere, department of Fine Arts.
