ARTS tutor enrolment has started

As a student tutor you play an important role supporting the new ARTS students in the beginning of their studies. You’ll be the first one to get to know the new students and help them with the beginning of their journey in ARTS. Join us, continue the tradition and have lots of fun!

As a tutor your role is f.e. helping the new students to get to know Aalto and ARTS, advising them on practical issues and taking part in organizing events for new students. You will be taking care of a group of about 8 students, with the help of other tutors, the responsible tutor of your department and the tutor coordinator of ARTS. Your participation is most needed during the orientation days (28.–29.8.2017.) and autumn, but be prepared to support your group until the end of spring!

You’ll get a tutor training organized by AYY and the university (on 26.4., 4.5., 23.5. or 24.5.). In addition to that there will be training for just ARTS tutors in May (the exact time will be announced later).

Applying is easy! Send a short message with a title “Tutor application” to olivia.hakala(a)aalto.fi. Just mention your name, contact information and your study program. Deadline for the applications is March 15th. Also, if you have any questions, you can send them to the same address!

In addition to the student tutors we are also recruiting five responsible tutors, one for each department. You can apply for the position of a tutor and a responsible tutor, but you can only be chosen for one. As a responsible tutor your role is to help, support and advise the student tutors of your department. Together with the tutor coordinator of ARTS you make sure that all the tutors have the knowledge and know-how they need in their job. You help the tutors in organizing events, other practical stuff and try to make sure that everything goes as planned!

The position includes planning work with the tutor coordinator and other responsible tutors already in the spring of 2017, but most of the work begins a little before the orientation days (28.-29.8.2017). The working period ends at the end of January 2018. The responsible tutors get paid a total of 400€ from their task at the end of January.
