Life isn’t meant to be easy – unless you happen to be TOKYOs member. As you’re reading this text, we assume you to be one. So, here’s a little checklist of what’s happening in TOKYO during the next two weeks. With animals and all. Here we go.
TOKYO POP-UP CAFÉ
► What? TOKYO pop-up café is a brainchild of TOKYOs board, born in the beginning of 2014. More info from here.
► When & where? Pop-up café takes over Hub on hursday November 20th from 11-13.
► Why? Get out from your caves! Coffee is good and people need it. And, in case you didn’t know, ‘pop-up‘ is old native american saying and freely translated means “oh for heaven’s sake, just come on over“.
APPLYING FOR TOKYOS BOARD FOR 2015
► What? To get to TOKYOs board you don’t have to have any former experience of taking part to similar kind of activities. Neither you do not need to do any further measures, as long as you show up to the meeting. More info from here.
► When & where? TOKYOs chair person + board for 2015 are selected in our General Meeting that takes place in TOKYO Hub on Tuesday 25.11.2014 from 16 to 21.
► Why? Well, you’ll get some power and the keys to Lounge. Also, we are pretty sure that none of us wants the True Finns Party to take over TOKYOs board, right?
THE GENERAL MEETING
► What? HUIPPUKOKOUS is TOKYOs general meeting and the #1 place of important decisions. Equal right to voting and speech for every member of TOKYO. More info from here, Facebook-event here.
► When & where? On Tuesday 25.11.2014, 16-21, at Hub.
► Why? General meeting makes decisions about the budget and action plan for year 2015 and elects the next TOKYO board and the chair person. We are expecting a thrilling drama! There are going to be snacks! And an after party!
CALENDAR COMPETITION
► What? The Design Calendar is one of the most popular member benefits of TOKYOs. It has been published since 1975. All ARTS students can participate on the contest and the winner is chosen by a prestigious jury. More info from here.
► When & where? The deadline for the competition is on Monday 1st of December, at 14:00 sharp.
► Why? Because basically no one wants our calendar to be designed and made by poor kids from developing countries, so…
I ♥ KIPSARI -GRANT
► What? With the profit that Kipsari makes, students’ artistic projects are supported. More info from here.
► When & where? The deadline for applying the grant is on Monday 1st of December, at 14:00 sharp.
► Why? It’s money. Everybody wants money, cause money brings happiness. Or maybe not, but at least it brings nice art projects and they equal happiness.
OUR GREAT DEGREE REFORM -QUESTIONNAIRE
► What? The degree reform landed to ARTS in 2014. Now we would like to know how the degree reform has affected your life. More info from here, the questionnaire itself is here.
► When & where? The questionnaire closes in the end of November.
► Why? You can take it as a game and shout “BINGO!” when you are done.
TOKYOS CHRISTMAS SALES
► What? The Christmas Sales is an annual, immensely popular, event organized by TOKYO. More info from here, Facebook-event here.
► When & where? 28th to 30th of November in Media Center Lume.
