New academic year is about to start today

Even though some of our students have already started their studies of this year already before, this is the day when the semester officially starts. In honor of that we would like to tell you couple of practical things:

It is again the time to join TOKYO! The easiest way to do it is probably to join at the same time while doing the attendance registration in Weboodi, but there are other ways as well. For example, you can become one of the loved and honored members of ours by filling the membership form and paying the membership fee (ridiculous 8e) for example in our service point (cash goes, card goes, anything goes). It is of course a jackpot to be TOKYOs member cause then you get the full access to our mad membership benefits.

10617614_10152665784123698_1776865124_nOne of our member benefits is TOKYOs desired Design calendar. The calendars arrived some time ago, so, if you’re TOKYOs member, you can go and get yours from the service point (new members of ours also get the calendar right away, of course). If you are not TOKYOs member, but still willing to get this little status symbol under your ownership, you can also buy it for the price of 20 euros. This year’s calendar (in the picture on the right) has been designed by graphic design BA-student Sonja Sarsa. The calendar is called “Time” and its pages should be thick enough to be “stabilo proof“.

And then! Our deeply beloved student restaurant Kipsari will open its doors today. There has been a little bit of facelift happening there during this summer, so we warmly recommend you to go and see how the atmosphere feels like now. The menu for the first week can be seen, for example, from Kipsari’s Facebook-page.

The very first Pop-up café of this autumn happens today in between 13-15 , near by TOKYOs service point. Come and say hi for the board and both new and the old students (psst: it’s also possible to join TOKYO in here).

In addition to Pop-up café there is gonna be a lot happening this semester, for example StartARTS! tomorrow and Kulta-aika (Golden Age in English), the first annual common picnic of art and culture students, next week.  See more info from TOKYOs calendar and stay tuned with what’s going on.

Merry happy new academic year for everyone!

xoxo,
TOKYOs board
