Indoor air problems – reminder

Coughing? Feeling dizzy? Hard to breathe in indoor spaces?

It’s a sad fact that some people suffer from indoor air problems in ARTS’ premises. So far, students have reported problems in ELO’s spaces in Otakaari 7, Otakaari 1’s A-wing, and even in Väre; in the case of Väre, these problems have been stated to be the result of incomplete air conditioning setup.

You shouldn’t start sulking alone in a corner just because of bad air though – there is a way of doing something!

  1. If you have symptoms at certain part of the school premises, contact sisailma@list.aalto.fi. -> in the best case scenario, it’s possible to move certain courses to another space.
  2. Contact Johanna Valve at FSHS +35846 710 1027 (mon-thu 8-15, fri 8-14), johanna.valve (att) yths.fi. She knows the situation in ARTS school, and can give you an appointment with doctor.
  3. When / if you receive a doctor’s report, you can apply for specialist support, if needed. Then contact ARTS Student Services worker Pulmu Föhr-Siltavuori (pulmu.fohr.siltavuori (at) aalto.fi) asap.

Some spaces in Aalto University can also have their air conditioning and temperature adjusted with the Aalto Space app, which may be of help for some students. Read more about the feature here.
