In spring 2014 it became clear that people wanted more event that would bring the art- and culture students of Helsinki metropolitan area together. TOKYO, in close co-operation with couple of other student associations, decided to answer to respond to the cry.

Kulta-aika (in English “Golden Age“) was born. The idea of the event was to get the paths of the members of like-minded student associations to cross. At the same time the event was also the common start of academic year, where also the young and old students got to meet and know each other.

2014-09-08_Kulta-aika-20-of-29-1024x679The day started with a picnic in Katri Vala’s park and continued to Vapaan Taiteen Tila. The program had it all, from face paintings to live music.

Although the event was built with a fast-paced schedule, it was an undeniable success. Kulta-aika has all the possibilities to raise itself to the level of traditional events, that hopefully would someday be able to reach all of the art- and culture students of Helsinki metropolitan, cause everybody didn’t have the time to join us now in the very beginning. Developmental views for this event seem to be more or less endless, only the sky is the limit.

In addition to TOKYO the first Kulta-aika was organized by Student association of Metropolia’s culture students Demoni ry, Metropolia Pop/Jazz Music Students’ Association – The Cable, Music students from Ruoholahti Muru ry and University of the Arts Student Union ArtsU.
