Retro video games in Kipsari

Nintendonurkka

We have made some small renovations and improvements in Kipsari during the summer. The more visible ones are of course the “maitoa, herkkuja, säilykkeitä” – sign on the wall along with the 8-bit Nintendo and the TV in the sofa corner.

The Nintendo will be loaded with a new game cartridge every week. During the first week we get to enjoy a set of three classic games on one cartridge: Super Mario Bros., Tetris and Nintendo World Cup.

The console itself is situated above the TV in a specially made container. The box was designed and constructed by industrial design student Mikko Akkola, who is also a member of Kipsari’s board of directors. The box was constructed entirely of recycled materials. The games and consoles will be provided by the chairman of the board Ilmari Arnkil. In the future we will see several different retro consoles.

While most improvements that were made during the summer were made to Kipsari’s storage facilities, customers will likely notice things like the new door handles on the insides of the bathroom doors (finally!) and the little hooks where you can hang your coat. Please give us feedback of your experience either to the TOKYO Lounge mailbox or by email to ilmari.arnkil (at) aalto.fi.

Facebook users can receive Kipsari’s weekly menu to their feed by liking the Kipsari page on Facebook.
