The What’s Going on ARTS-event was organized on Wednesday 3th at Kipsari restaurant. There were some discussion about the changes in Arabia campus, Väre-building and student’s well-being. Dean Anna Valtonen, study psychologist Mikko Inkinen and head of One Campus project Sari Dhima attended to the event as the guest lecturers. Dean Anna Valtonen opened the event and in her speech she highlighted the importance of the study atmosphere in our school.

Study psychologist Mikko Inkinen opened All Well-questionnaire’s results and spoke about the well-being of the ARTS-students. According to the All Well-questionnaire, students are in generally happy in their situation in the study enviroment and community. Even so, many are still feeling stressed because of various reasons. Inkinen asked all the participants to discuss about the matter in tables and that evoked some thoughts and suggestions for the improvement. One important suggestion for the improvement was that teaching staff shouldn’t courage students to spend sleepless nights and stress about their studies.

The studio master of the metal studio Janne Hirvonen told, which changes in transition and studio practices are coming in the next semester to Arabia campus. The most notable changes are that the Metropolia culture students are moving to the Arabia campus and there will be partial common use of the studios with Metropolia students. Also moving between the floors in Arabia campus has changed.

The summary of Janne Hirvonen’s presentation:

Head of the One Campus-project Sari Dhima told us about the facilities in Väre-building. There will be floors which are composed of the modules. Classrooms and plenty of free team rooms are located in the modules. Studios spaces are located on the 0-floor. Some of the spaces we will shared with Aalto BIZ students. There are three suggestions of consistences of the classrooms in Väre, which can be commented below.
